My Nostalgic Dive into PUBG's Sixth 2023 Store Update

I still remember the summer of 2023, when PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS launched its sixth Store update of the year. As a regular player who had already sunk hundreds of hours into Erangel and Miramar, I was ready for something fresh. That June update felt like a beach party mixed with a haunted house — and I loved every chaotic second of it.

The headline for me was Survivor Pass: Splash Royale. The sun-kissed shores theme promised summer excitement, and the pass came in two packs: Weapon & Level Pack (3,270 G-COIN) and Weapon Pack (990 G-COIN). The sales window ran from June 13 after live server maintenance until August 8, 2023 on PC, and June 21 to August 16 on console. I remember the developers had adjusted XP balance in Update #23.1, and after analyzing player metrics, they increased XP from weekly missions to make leveling smoother. That was a relief because I wanted those rewards without grinding forever.

Then there was the Soak and Destroy - P90, a weapon skin that looked like a water gun but hit like a truck. The PUBG - Soak and Destroy P90 Value Pack cost $9.99 and included the skin plus bonus G-COIN: 1,050 on PC and 1,100 on console. I laughed when I saw it, but I also bought it. There was an Xbox display issue on June 22, and the adjusted sales period for Xbox was announced later. On Xbox only, it ran from June 22, 5:11 PM PDT to August 16, 9 PM PDT. I played on PC, so I grabbed it on day one.

Summer Horror skins were the opposite of sunshine. The Nightmare Carnage Mega Bundle (3,500 G-COIN) included Wretched Rag Doll Set, Candlelit Sinner Set, No Escape Weapon Set, plus bonus items: Evil Within spray, Victory Dance 115, and Shadow Stalker nameplate. I bought the mega bundle after seeing the Wretched Rag Doll Mask and Candlelit Sinner Mask. Individual items were available too, like Wretched Rag Doll Vest (990 G-COIN), Candlelit Sinner Jacket (990 G-COIN), and weapon skins: Bone Collector - S1897 (990 G-COIN), Horrorscope - Kar98k (700 G-COIN), Sinister Skillet - Pan (990 G-COIN). The sales period was long: PC from June 13, 2023 to March 12, 2024, and console from June 21, 2023 to March 20, 2024. I remember feeling spooky in the middle of summer.

STAYC collaborative emotes brought K-pop energy. The STAYC Set cost 1,200 G-COIN and included Victory Dance - Poppy (Part 1) and Part 2, plus bonus STAYC - Teddy Bear spray and STAYC - Poppy nameplate. Individual emotes were 600 G-COIN each. Sales ran from June 27 to September 26, 2023 on PC, and June 27 to September 26 on console. I am not a huge K-pop fan, but the Poppy dance was infectious. I used it after every chicken dinner.

Contraband Crates introduced new M79 weapon skins that could colorfully cloud enemies' sight. I remember Update 24.2 on July 12, 2023, changed the M79 category from Handgun to Misc, and the M79 tab was no longer displayed in the Charms page. The skins could be found under Customize - Weapons - Misc. The sales period ran from June 13 to September 29, 2023 on PC, and June 21 to September 29 on console. I did not get the best M79 skin, but I saw plenty of players launching smoke-like chaos.

Then came the second chance: nine partner skin bundles returned for resale. I marked my calendar. The schedule rotated weekly:

• June 21–27: RASH BeiXi, MOZZ, GodV

• June 28–July 4: Pigff, 17SHOU

• July 5–11: Thomas, LongSkr

• July 12–18: XDD, manson

I bought RASH BeiXi's Mega Bundle (3,500 G-COIN) because it included hoodie, lion costume, backpack, weapon set, Victory Dance, and spray. MOZZ's Pack and GodV Bundle were 1,340 G-COIN each. GodV's Mini14 was Steam-exclusive. I also grabbed 17SHOU's Beryl M762 (990 G-COIN) and Thomas' M416 (990 G-COIN).

Your Shop reopened with personalized discounts. Service period: June 27 to July 18, 2023 on PC, and June 27 to July 18 on console. I always checked my personalized offers because they were cheaper than standard store prices. I got a discount on a skin I had been eyeing for months.

Finally, BLACKPINK collaborative goods were leaving the Store soon. The BLACKPINK All-In-One Bundle cost 4,490 G-COIN and included JISOO, JENNIE, ROSÉ, and LISA sets. Individual sets were 1,750 G-COIN each. Sales ended June 13, 2023 on PC and June 13 on console. I already owned the JENNIE set, so I just watched the countdown. It was a bittersweet goodbye.

Looking back from 2026, that June 2023 Store update was a turning point for me. It mixed summer fun, horror, K-pop, and competitive skins in a way that kept me logging in.
